What is a UUID
Mojang implemented a feature to rename users. This is a major problem for many banning solutions - which are based on usernames for their bans. Instead of the username every user will be represented as a 32 character long "unique user identification" - short UUID.
Whats the major problem with UUIDs
Noone can remember a string like "75ffb716a57d4065a27702ed58612788" or wants to enter this sort of keys in their ban files. That's why we've implemented a few features to manage UUID users.
Features
- Glizer can easily transform usernames to uuids, always up to date with the mojang servers
- Glizer will work - even when a user changes his name. A banned player will stay banned.
- You can use Glizer to check if a user changed his name in the past on your server.
- You can use Glizer to write Server-Private Comments on Users, which are only visible to your own server staff
- You can use Glizer to check for related accounts, based on the uuid
- You can manage Events with UUIDs and can save informations like scores to an user, even after a name change.
How to use
Just use glizer as you did before. It will automatically transform the username to the uuid.
